about

this piece initially had soprano saxophone, tuba and trumpet worked into the end crescendo section, but i replaced all three of them with synthesizers because the horn patches on the school's dx7 i had to use just weren't very good. however, the three synth patches i used as replacement were all chosen for being "brassy". it was a situation where i had to choose between a bad emulation and a decent reinterpretation. one of them was even titled "sforzando", although it was definitely more of a synth sound than a horn sound. the result definitely sounds "brassy", so i'm not tempted to redo this out of some semantic point. but, it should be pointed out that this was indeed written for full orchestra and that some of the synths in this recording are indeed "horn synths".

written early 2001. reconstructed in the first quarter of 2006, especially over march. this version was finalized on march 30, 2006.

jessica murray Windsor, Ontario

this is the archive for the artist formerly known as jason parent and now known as jessica murray.

the music here has shifted dramatically over many years, from roots in punk/grunge through to experimental synth pop and into a type of kitchen sink post-rock with heavy electronics. the only consistency throughout is a lack of consistency, guitars and an impressionist aesthetic. "blender rock".
